About Us

Arrowsmith Lodge is situated in the centre of Gregson Lane Village in Hoghton, an area steeped in local history. According to the legend, King James 1 enjoyed a lion of beef served at Hoghton Towers so much, that ke knighted it! Hence the joint is now called "sirlion".

The village has many shopping facilities and is surrounded by some of Lancashire's most beatiful countryside. It is within easy reach of local towns and motorways. The home is paricularly convenient to visitors, having a large car park and also enjoying a good bus service.

Arrowsmith Lodge was first opend in the 1980's as a care home for the elderly people, accommodating 18 residents. It was extended and refurbished in 2008 to provide for a total of 22 residents. In 2010 the home has been further extended with additional beds, brining the total to 35, along with a new sensory garden.

Arrowsmith Lodge is a privately owned rest home providing a very high standard of care and accommodation for up to 35 residents
